limitless digital access In my practice, I've seen numerous clients with neck discomfort who have attempted shots, pills, rest and chiropractic treatment without any advantage.

The bright side is that there are reasons these treatments stop working, and there is something that has outstanding success in dealing with neck pain and signs that come along with it. The reasons that tablets, shots and the rest do not work long-term is since they are not addressing the reason the neck discomfort is occurring in the very first place. So, while these treatments can be useful temporarily considering that they address the signs you are having, long-term, they are not fixing what's causing the neck discomfort.

Also, chiropractic treatment can be practical initially for some people, but it is just resolving part of the reason for the neck discomfort– which is why many people who receive chiropractic treatments wind up seeing their chiropractic doctor for months or years, and after that ultimately the chiropractic treatments lose their effectiveness.

The reason for this is that lots of chiropractic doctors deal with improper positioning of the neck vertebra by requiring the vertebra back into position (cracking your neck). While this can be valuable, the problem is that the muscles along your spinal column were made to support the alignment of your spinal column.

So, if you continually force the vertebra into position, but don't reinforce the muscles that keep the spine in the position in which it was created to be, the alignment of the vertebra simply keeps coming out of position. This is why you see people that use chiropractic services return for months or years of treatment and finally observe that even that no longer helps their neck pain.

Physical therapy takes a different method. We evaluate your neck and surrounding locations to discover what muscles are tight, which ones are weak, along the spine, as well as what vertebra in the neck are out of position. We correct the vertebra alignment in the neck (similar to chiropractic care) but then we by hand stretch the muscles that are tight along the spinal column, and restore strength to the muscles that are weak along the spine and surrounding locations.

Restoring the flexibility and strength to the muscles that support the neck/spine is really what keeps the neck vertebra in place. This keeps you from having to return to see your physical therapist for months or years; you need to be done with physical therapy within 4-8 weeks, and after that as long as you keep up with the workout you are offered, you should not need to keep returning for physical treatment for months or years.
