Irmo, SC (Paul Kirby)– Respected West Columbia chiropractic physician Dr. James Greg Bonham, 63, of the Irmo location of Lexington County and his long time buddy Lisa Marie McCartha, 46, were both found deceased in their house on Friday, July 31, 2020. Their bodies were discovered after a member of the family of McCartha's got concerned when she and her mom were unable to reach McCartha for approximately a week.
According to the family member thatfound the bodies of the set and dialed 911, Bonham and McCartha had been romantically involved for around 8 years and cohabited in a home on Glen Rose Court in the Coldstream area of Lexington County. This is off Bush River Road not far from Irmo and the Lake Murray Dam. McCartha's sis said their mom first called her after she had actually attempted however
could not reach McCartha. This was not typical, so she became really worried. On Wednesday, July 29, their mother went to the home herself to check on her child however was not able to get anybody to come to the door. She grew more worried and revealed that to McCartha's sibling. After speaking to their mom once again, the sibling spent some time during her lunch on July 31st to pass the couple's house on Glen Rose Court to examine her sibling's welfare. When she
showed up, no one came to the door, however she might plainly see through a glass that the couple's canines remained in the home running loose. Animal feces were strewn throughout the interior of the home which she said was completely out of character for her sister. The sister discovered the door was opened, went into the home, and found her sibling in the kitchen area. She appeared to be dead. That's when the sister backed out of the house and alerted law enforcement. The Lexington County Sheriff's Department had deputies react to the house. They confirmed the couple was deceased. Those deputies secured the scene, notified their headquarters and Lexington County Coroner
Margaret Fisher's workplace, and then waited up until investigators from the Major Crimes Unit and the Crime Scene Unit arrived. They then turned the criminal activity scene over to those investigators. After a complete and comprehensive examination into the matter, it was figured out that Dr. Bonham shot and eliminated MaCartha before turning the weapon on himself. It was also figured out that the couple had died on or near July 25th, 6 days prior to the day their bodies were found. Coroner Fisher's office
worked
together with detectives in this examination. Her workplace makes the last decision as to the cause and way of death. She also made all official notifications. No intention for the shooting has been released. Source: swlexledger.com
