A local man changed his career from chemistry to chiropractic after having a life-altering change.
Chris Rynd graduated from Coffee County Central High School prior to attending Tennessee Tech University where he made a degree in Chemistry. During his time at TTU Rynd was able to get a grant to conduct field research study on shamanic medication in Peru for four months, studying a plant called Cat's Claw.
Rynd finished in 2012 and started a career at Vi-Jon in Smyrna. He operated in the research and advancement department for about five years where he assisted developed formulas and quality scalability for a variety of items including aerosol sprays, hand sanitizers, laundry and meal detergents and so on.
He was about 2 years into his career when he began returning to the health club to be active once again as he began to get sick every once in a while.
“I matured skateboarding and used to compete a lot so I was quite active,” Rynd said.
Rynd said he was doing cross hatches in the gym when he got hurt.
“I heard a pop and it literally dropped me to my knees,” Rynd stated.
Quickly afterwards Rynd was experiencing one-sided headaches and was tearing out of one eye for 18 days straight while experiencing “10 out of 10” discomfort.
Rynd stated he went to his primary care to be informed he was looking at spinal surgical treatment on his C1/C2 vertebrae, which is based around the skull and the brain stem. Rynd wasn't delighted with the idea of getting surgery on his spinal column while he was 26.
“That was a little earth shaking and I was most likely a little young to be cut on with spine surgical treatment.”

He said he missed so much work he was losing money so he finally looked for a chiropractic specialist and said after one modification he was all much better.
“All my signs went away, no removing of one eye or my '10 out of 10′ discomfort,” Rynd said. “It actually saved me from surgical treatment.”
Rynd specified, with routine chiropractic care, he hasn't been ill in over five years given that his very first modification.
With the life changing modification, Rynd connected to his buddy Dr. Rick Longie and informed him he was thinking about altering professions and going to chiropractic school. He stated Dr. Longie connected to the president of Sherman College of Chiropractic to speak with Rynd and to have him check out the school.
Rynd stated he invested the next 3 years conserving up his money while continuing to work for Vi-Jon. After saving up sufficient cash to pay tuition, he participated in Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida in 2017 and graduated this year.
He said while in school he was surprised to find out how a little change can assist somebody with chronic pain tremendously.
“I did not anticipate the human mind to comprehend the body,” Rynd stated. “I never knew a lot things played a crucial role to the nerve system, where any little changes can make a big distinction to the whole body.”
Rynd worked for a chiropractic office in Murfreesboro before getting his license in March. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic his graduation event was cancelled. He did get his diploma together with his graduation gown prior to being able to go home.
Rynd now works at Family Chiropractic Complex in Tullahoma and stated they've been following guidelines and safety treatments like other medical offices. Rynd stated company is back to regular but he was worried in the start, particularly for other small companies that do not have the very same resources as corporations.
“That's what I like about small companies trigger that's part of a neighborhood and not a corporation that thinks people are important. Individuals respect that here more than in the larger cities,” Rynd stated.
Rynd said he's seen clients get better after they've pertained to see him and encourages anybody suffering from chronic discomfort to see them as it helped him out.
